foul.
a lot.
try to induce a bribe or two (using cash if you need to) to keep a saw on the pitch.
saw things.
a lot.

also

Get bribes and foul every turn with your chainsaw, without bribes just use him to protect your ball carrier. Don't play dwarves or chaos dwarves, get a +ag block, surehands ball carrier. Ss and dt are the only normal rolls worth bothering with. Blodge a few goblins up, also try out a PO goblin, they are fun.

Your team is going to be a sissy team as long as you decline games against mv4 dorfs.

I will gladly play you again. (And not with dwarfs either) I finally replaced that dead blitzer.

I just watched most of a replay of your last game and you made a really horrible mistake early on by sending your chainsaw into your opponents half without any protection. Your chainsaw is the most valuable player on your team and he should ALWAYS be protected. When you set up, make sure you set up in a way that he can't get blocked or blitzed if a Blitz! comes up on the kick off. Before you move him, make sure you have other goblins where you're sending him to protect him after he blitzes or fouls. Try your best to never let your opponent get a hit on him. He's your best weapon by far and your most damaging player. Your opponents number one priority will almost always be 'Take out the saw' followed by 'Take out the bomb' and 'Take out the Fanatic'. Without weapons, your team will quickly fall apart. They need protecting.

guard on trolls is mostly useless, get them PO early/first.
doubles on gobs should be dp almost only.
foul lots, foul hard.
have a deep bench, all three secret weapons on a roster feels too much, you will never have enough bribes, i think bomb (without hmp) is the alternative to fanatic and chainsaw. also bomb and fanatic are better against slow unagile teams, while the saw will rip through blodgers with low av. bombs cause the most turnovers! dt/ss are useful, sprint/ss on 1-2 is ok, sneaky git is bloat. all my experience is box only.

I agree with Pythrr.
Always pack a team of 16.
Protect Chainsaw and other secret weapon guys- and draw out the drive you play them for as long as possible to get the most out of them before they're banned.
Use bribes/babes if the chance comes up- I'd lean more to bribes with Gobs as you can keep your secret weapons on for an extra drive.
Don't worry about the Trolls- many players seem to become obsessed with injuring them. This is what you want- they are AV10, they can take it. Every time they are getting pummelled that's 1 block/blitz and 3 assists NOT happening to Goblins- this is good!
Don't be afraid of being crazy with Gobs!
Stunty/Dodge combo- that's rerollable 3+ dodge anywhere, always (skills aside that is 89% chance of success each dodge).
Dodge out like crazy, make them your bitch on the pitch by dodging out so they can't block you and then repositioning yourself in the way. Dodge through those 4 tacklezones, 2 dice opponents choice players off into the crowd, try what you wouldn't with any other team.
Pray for +AG and/or Block.
Have fun!

The saw is not just your only weapon, he's also by far your most vulnerable player. He starts without dodge, he has ST2, AV4 and stunty!

Oh and sneaky git isn't too bloaty if a player rolled doubles on first skill
Doubles first skill: dp (then git, then retirement)
normals first skill: sidestep, then diving tackle. Then later doubles get block.

I love love love playing goblins.
Sure they die horribly.
Yes the trolls will go stupid at just the wrong moment.
Your fanatic will kill himself on a failed gfi.
But when they click and the magic happens then oh boy they are amazing little balls of fun.
Pogo sure feet, ss, block / sure hands on doubles. Pray for +ag
Fanatic Mighty Blow, Grab, Block on doubles.
Looney dodge/ss or leap :D
Bombadier HMP or rebuy
Normal gobbos ss/dt
On doubles I'd take wrestle over block once I've a dirty player.
For the trolls I disagree that guard is useless. They can help protect your fragile little uns and help each other get the 3db. Doubles is block block blockity block

cheers all. will start trying these things out.
last game was a 3-0 win over skaven.
Think i'll retire the fanatic. replace with another gobbo
Posted by fly on 2013-03-28 23:18:15
imagine a fanatic with +ma,+ma,sprint - it's up to 8 hits a turn on your opponent. the bomb can hit as much, but the fanatic can tie up all of the enemy team once a drive... :)
i'd rather replace the bomber with a gob than the fanatic.
plus, if you run 15 players, you might as well induce a sw merc (so you can roster 2/3 sws).
also, grab is better as first skill for the fanatic, since it increases his hit ratio.

> Always pack a team of 16.
I strongly disagree, you cannot have star players. Having either Fungus, the bomber or the blodger chainsaw star is exteremely useful.
Also, keep a close eye on TV. Gobbos levelling up usually make them less useful -- retire everyone with 3 skills not having doubles, and even then you should think of it. Fanatic with grab/MB, bomber with Hail Mary Pass, chainsaw with dodge/block is a high benefit though.
Keeping your secret weapon guys safe is most important: without them it is extremely hard to play without numerical advantage.
Take a look on the Goblin play guide here: http://www.plasmoids.dk/bbowl/playbooks/Goblin%20Play%20Book2.pdf
I'd also sack the Apo, it doesn't worth the TV cost. Your gobbos are disposable, also help keeping the TV low, trolls have regen and even if they fail, well, this is Blood Bowl where CAS happens.
I'd recommend fouling only after you have taken off at least 1 opponent off the pitch. Sent off by the referee may make it harder to keep your SW guys at the end of the drive.
And good luck! :-)

Roante.
As much as i see what you are saying, i don't want to min/max (so to speak) these Gobbo's.
if/when they skill will try to keep. Well mostly.
Normally run with around 15. space left for a star if needed then

@FMSTAN: Oh, so that's what the term means :D (Sry, I'm kind of new here).
I really like playing with gobbos, and I found a tendency with my teams (both here and in the Cyanide version) that in the beginning goblins rock! I got really fun games and they were quite competitive (let's say it's a 50% win rate).
But as they start developing, around ~1300 TV it became a nightmare. My gobbos are fragile and having a limited set of skills does not help to keep them on the pitch (mostly SS/DT). Other teams tend to get block for all their players that makes the situation worse. After a few games I fired most of my team (dead, MNG and -stat CASs), and I found myself again in the "it's fun to play" word. So that's how I ended up in this situation :-)
