Team Fluff
Ok this may sound stupid. So I apologise in advance.

Have seen some teams with AMAZING team fluff.

My question, Is it all just made up with your imagination or is there somewhere I can get ideas from?
Love reading through them. I Have tried a few times, But nothing to the scale those teams have.

not sure my porn team would get past the admins though

Shango, that requires being able to read. No one said that was a requirement

I think it's best to jot down team name/theme ideas when they come to you, and then when you want to make a team you start building the theme from scratch (with player names and such).

imagine all mens!

Just imagination. Try the Chainsaw matches. The early ones (the first hundred or so) had amazing match reports.

This is me:

If I 'construct' a team with all the fluff around it, I eventually grow bored of it. Because I set myself a frame, but the frame I build in a relatively short time.

So for me to have a team that is 'sustainable' I have to start rough:
-set a basic theme (middle-earthy / tribute to something / reference to real sports team / carnage / humor / anything)
-find a team name. for me, this is the absolute essential part. The name must be catchy, but not too generic. Easy to say. Alliterations work well. (Blood-Sea Bucaneers, are reference to sports team AND alliteration) Maybe have a reference to something that is allready sticking, and give it a twist (Six Hooves Under is one of those, reference to six feet under BUT twist on chaos dorfs)
-find a system to name your players. Do they all get new names when someone dies? or will you revive as "Menzkiller I, Menzkiller II, etc". Do you give them a nickname? " Brian 'Manslaughter' Willams, Frank 'Catchy' Jones, etc"

This sounds quite dry, but for me the inspiration is usually not the issue. Some legendary teams here have really simple concepts, but they are fluffed out great, and for me to get there, this is the way.

The actual development comes a lot from the matches they play. If I build a chaos team and they have a horrible cas ratio after the first 20 matches, that influences the fluff. If they are named "The Merciless Slaughterers" and this happens, that creates the fluff.

Bottom line: Don't try to write down a biography, or build fluff to be on the level of those teams you find are awesome.
1. simple, but strong idea
2. Create the guidelines for playernaming, eventually (!) development (all players take sidestep as first skill, etc)
3. Play them
4. REACT with your fluff.

You find awesome fluffed teams with under 10 matches. But the best fluff usually is on teams with 50+ games under their belt.

Good fluff starts with a great team idea/basis.

Then you need to develop the team, which means NO RETIREMENT! The greatest teams in FUMBBL are ones that are long lived.

Very good advice from Grom there.

Would just add, if you're going to make a fluffy team - make sure it fits in the Blood Bowl/American football culture. Naming teams and players after your favourite sci-fi film, TV show or whatever is unimaginative, nerdy and just unfunny imho, but hey each to their own! Those named above are good examples of teams with real character because you can imagine them being on a Blood Bowl pitch.

This is my latest try. Nothing amazing I know, but is fun

I agree in part with Dr.Death, creating a team after your favourite TV programme is fine, but it does need to avoid being just another unimaginative tribute team. 2 teams spring to mind that are awesome,

Chuck Vs Blood Bowl - Random Oracle
Ultimate X Men - PeteW

It can be done but I agree it needs a good hook.....

Although with a name like DrDeath I would take his thoughts on creativity with a pinch of salt :)
