11'000 Kruelty fans! More importantly.. eighty thousand gold crowns! The cash piled up as the Kruelty took to their home pitch as pros for the third time. It was a blizzard inside the new stadium, (Wx wizard on the payroll) and everyone was too frozen to sprint, except the zombie opponents, who weren't cold at all, just too dead to sprint. The ice ultimately worked to Kingston's advantage, making it quite dangerous for the undead coach to ask his players to push the pace of their shambling. The first turn saw the necro team's ghouls get the ball within squares of the goal line, only to have rotten feet slip and Kruel players catch up to the unsupported necro player. Once in Kingston hands the ball was run up the side line by Brad Brunsen for the match's 1st (ice assisted) score as the rest of the players tied each other up.
No stars were born in the second half as the humans covered up near their end zone and watched the undead refuse to cross the scrimmage line after fouling Kingston's Lenny "the Lean" off of the pitch. Down a man and hoping to suck the slowpokes deep into their end, the humans let the stalemate continue for several turns, displeasing the necro coach as well as the Kruelty fans. With 3 turns left the living dead watched the humans walk all 10 players up the sideline in eerie silence for a score. At the end of the drive, Brockman couldn't resist and broke rank to blitz a nearby zombie. One the following kick-off the favor was returned in kind as the necro team ended the cold and quiet match with a turn 16 fouling of Lurch Big Lugg's face.
The Kingston coach would like to apologize to the fans and the opposing coach for not playing into the zombies hands and getting involved in a second half punch up at center field. It could have been fun, but most likely painful. Maybe next time. 2-Nil win for Kingston. GO KRUELTY, GO!
