Kingston's road trip continued to another rat infested cave complex where they encountered a most angry group of skaven ballers. The rats knocked out, injured, fouled and murdered Kruelty members at a blinding rate. Unfortunately for them the ref was also a cocaine addicted rat who was able to spot all of the lightening quick rule violations. He dutifully sent a painful number of his kin off to the dungeon. (the ol' cheese bribe.. that's why the Kruelty have the wise veteran assistant coach on the payroll) The 11 man skaven squad basically fouled themselves out of what was shaping up to be a very competitive match. 3-2 win for the Kruelty and 70'000 crowns to replace Lothar 'the Law' Lawson. RIP L.L.
Next was a reminder that the Kruelty STILL value their shiny uniforms too much to block puss covered Nurgle worshipers. They just have no answer for ST 4 giants they aren’t permitted to block. After a few mistakes, Kingston still felt competitive but lost 1-2 and made only 30'000 gold . Three players were pounded onto the bench for the following game, including Thorhall the star thrower, forcing management to bring the roster up to 14 with the purchase of another ball handler, Trev 'the Back-Up.'
Finally! Back to home turf and a group of lovely… err… pretty, no... HUGE women to play against. After the last amazing party, 16'000 Kruelty fans got in on the zon action and pushed the gate revenue to 70'000 gold for the team. (would have been higher but clean up after this crazy party ran into 5 figures) These amazons were not so friendly as the last, and a sour coach encouraged his women to use their mighty blow talent to their fullest effect. (HA! So did the Kruelty fans after the match!) The team was in a rush to get home, but luckily the zon fans stayed and enjoyed themselves. 2-Nil for Kingston and apologies for the delay of game penalties that were not called. Does no one else bribe Nuffle priests before a match?

So goes the story of my team. See the comments after "Game 11" if it has rubbed you the wrong way. THOUGTS ON GAME SPEED: A few players have had an issue with the length of the matches. Usually when losing. I'll start by once again saying many thanks to all of my early opponents and their patience. Not ending my turns was more than I could have hoped for and a courtesy I will extend to other new players in the future. The site clearly states that one should set aside 90 minutes to commit to a match. I would submit that if you are hoping to get in a game in under an hour you might be disappointed when playing box, as you may get paired with someone new. I am new. I didn't say I suck, but I am new to FUMBBL's java client and new with regards to playing good opposition. I know poker, and I know games, and I know gambling. I treat this like an opportunity to work my brain and improve at all of those things. To be good, I'm sure the best players consider a few options each turn, and the pros and cons of each. They must then consider the opponents probable reaction to each of those plays, and how it could play out next turn. THEN must be considered what the likely result would be if the play falls apart at some point in your turn, and therefore which play is better in the terms of probability for success and risk/reward ratio. My move, his counter move, what could go wrong, and where. TRYING to do these things is often taking me close to four minutes at this experience level. I do wait several seconds at times before even selecting a player. I will speed up, but there will always be new players. New players are a good thing. A friendly and healthy community is also a good thing to keep them around, hopefully to become good players some day. So what if some noob is oblivious to his great luck. So what if he thinks he is the greatest of all time. Hopefully he is enjoying himself and sticks around to learn what is what, and to improve and become a good community member. Cut him some slack with the "yaaaaawns.." There is most likely a win in it for you.
