Are there even many teams in the high TV slot? 26 games in with Dorfs and I just hit 1225...

As of this morning, there are exactly one hundred eligible high teams.

How many have ever drawn in the box?

That old canard, again? :)
Farming can be done wherever, box or gf. It's just timing, really.
All such purity tests are entirely made up.

Bullcrap - picking is the reason so many "legend" coaches excel with min-max rosters. Take this team: https://fumbbl.com/p/team?op=view&showmatches=1&team_id=1148070 51 game undefeated snotlings - gtfo.
You have these great coaches that can probably win with anything but they prey on inferior opponents(teams and coaches) instead which drives them away over time. Unlike some I am ok with the matchmaking but I truly believe that half your games should be drawn in box. I may be wrong, but that is a common theme in my life. lol

Hey, opinions are like buttholes, everybody got at least one.
The greatest illusion the box ever gave us is to be assured you are not being picked.
Picking your matches is entirely possible in box too. You just need to know who's online. Maybe by looking at someone else's friend list? It's not like the player pool is that deep.
Box or gf makes no difference in that regard, and in the data as well as Christer likes to point out.
Coaches that are obsessed by winrate and try to find ways to improve it... rarely improve their gameplay.
Increasing levels of challenge based on short term, achievable targets, such as tournaments and the BBT, are both good ways to improve and also candidates for good indicators of coach skill.
