But there is only one time, FUMBBL time :)

right right... to be clear, what changes is how WE relate to the all-important FUMBBL time. ;)

Yeah. I heard that both the U.S. and Canada are thinking about doing away with it.

It is absolutely the worst weekend of the year in my books. Though I got married on the old Spring-forward weekend so I didn't used to say that. :) But Monday traffic accidents & fatalities are more common due to lack of sleep, kids' patterns are thrown off... It's just a miserable idea. But at least it (supposedly) saves electricity, which of course is much more important than human life as far as the greenies who run the show are concerned. Too clever by half.

I just have to have the horrible realization once a year that: "What. What? its 3am now?!"

+1 @fidius
I don 't think it even saves any electricity anymore

The irony, at least where I live (southern BC, Canada), is that 86% of the province's electricity comes from hydroelectric, ie clean, steady, and renewable, and most other generators run on natural gas or diesel, which are pretty clean too. Still gotta build those expensive bird-killing wind farms and mind those lights, though, because Environment.

Lol @ the notion that dst is here for environmental reasons

Mind you, the scheduling system on the site (the clock icon you can click on for scheduled matches) takes daylight savings into account. Just make sure you have your correct timezone set in the profile and it'll automatically convert the times for you,

Yes, that's a good reason to use it. I find my biggest problem is that I am so used to being "bbtime -6" that when I'm sending PMs to opponents about times to play I have to unlearn my habits for these three weeks that I'm bbtime -5. Maybe the solution is to use the scheduler all the time. :D
