Coming from the mines in Slide-Rock Mountains, the Bolters are used to hardship. They are used to dirt and they are used to pain. But nothing could have prepared these players for their greatest challenge: 365 games in FUMBBL competitive division in the year 2022.

Only two players remain on the team from their inaugural match, due to the team insurance not wanting to cover players who have suffered two injuries. But until that happens, these players play on; through dislocated shoulders, head injuries and niggles.

Selecting games is done via prioritising variety of coaches first, then variety of races, then accepting any game.

The other self-imposed rule is skilling is with regards to skills. These players can only gain random primary skills. This can lead to some wonderful players:

• Catcher Lily Adakite, fired after suffering her second injury but legend in 15 games

• Catcher Weston Gabbro, killed by a goblin bomb and a failed apoth but another legend

• Blitzer Geoff Loam, still on the team, Geoff's random skills could not have been better if they had been picked by Nuffle themselves

• Thrower Alan Diorite, captain since day one and not slowed down a niggle, Alan is the cornerstone of the team. Attempts to train a replacement have not yet born fruit

With every success, there has been failures, but the team is adept at getting the best out of every player's potential. There has also been the kick skill, which has appeared in more than 10% of skill rolls in the month of January (8/79 skill rolls). They also take on all comers. In the forty games played in January, there has been an equal number of games versus higher CR coaches and lower CR coaches and only four races have not been played against.

The Bolters have started strong with 40 games in a month but still need plenty of matches to reach their 2022 goal of 365 games. They are looking forward to seeing how the redraft impacts teams, although their self imposed retirement rule will likely mean it will have a smaller impact on them.
