5 year old's view on White Dwarf
Well there I am sat in bed having my Sunday morning cup of tea whilst skimming through this month's edition of White Dwarf to catch up with whats going on...when in walks my 5 year old son to have a chat.
I put down the mag and talk about all the various things that he has dream't up over night, after a few minutes he notices the magazine and decides to try and read it. As he realises it makes no sense at all to him, he looks at the pictures.
As he leafs through the pages he stops a a large pull-out of some Mirkwood Rangers fighting in a skirmish and proclaims
"Why are there some naked men fighting in here?"
I take a look and see some anemic looking Orcs attacking the Mirkwood Rangers and inform him that they are not naked men, but actually monsters.
He looks again and says
"Oh Yes! I see now the monsters are wearing nappies"
On closer inspection I have to say I agree.....all Mirkwood Orcs indeed wear nappies!

The usual wisdom of children you know, he actually made a witty comment on us grown up man playing with goofy orc miniatures and all. ^^

@Synn - Yes I am glad he did not find my collection of magazines. I have to say I have never quite been able to throw away all those mags I collected during your Nude Greco Roman Wrestling Days Synn!

Great story.
Though isn't White Dwarf mostly advertising these days? Always was quite a lot but seemed pretty heavy with in when I last checked a few months ago. Battle reports, painting guides, stories and rules are the things I like to see there.

@garyt1: yes it's not the same as it used to be but then I think that's because they publish too frequently and have to find content as opposed to select the best content available over the past month or two. Furthermore by dropping games like Bloodbowl, Advanced Heroquest, and others they have seriously affected the diversity of content and also it's audience share.
I think they should go for one every 2 months and cover the wider hobby else they slide down the path of diminishing returns
