So what are you saying, your Royal Orcness?
Posted by Qaz on 2010-01-21 16:36:26
What kind of coach is Kfoged?? :)
Posted by Russo on 2010-01-21 17:02:17
kfoged updated at 97% High Elf and 1105 racist homicidal maniac
(I have met him and hes a lovely guy)
FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!

So..
Who's this 'Franenstein' you mention?
But no, really, it's okay, some players are just a bit like the races they play. You should beware playing TT with a Nurgle player - try an Amazon player instead.
Posted by Russo on 2010-01-21 17:15:46
Yes I spotted the typo for Frankenstein on the spreadsheet after i had converted it to a jpg so i just left it :-)
Posted by Gritter on 2010-01-21 17:24:47
Post wahetver stats you like russo but 10+ active orcs teams dont lie!
And there was me thinking that this post was going to be about you resembling an Orcs in looks and intellect ;)
Posted by Zombie69 on 2010-01-21 17:32:55
Mightypeon will be all lizards, and Kenty mostly necro.
And 20% is big when your next highest one is at 6%.
Posted by Russo on 2010-01-21 17:36:36
@ Gritter....
Still only a fifth of games played Gritter, I have alot of Orc teams that I dont use still active because of sentimental value. I donta ctually play with 4 or 5 of them anymore though would consider retiring them only if they got mashed up etc
@ zombie69.....
The gap from 20% to 6% is not unlike a few other coaches. Frankie's is 29% to 9% as a good example
Posted by Frankenstein on 2010-01-21 18:22:53
Hehe Russo,
I only ever made that comment because you and others were talking about your orcishness in WIL-chat.
Anyway, you would need to add Frankenstein2007's and Hornacek's games to your data to get proper results. On top of that, most of the woodelf and proelf games date back to 2003/2004 (2006 if you add Frankenstein2007's games), when you were only allowed 3 teams or so and my coach nick was Mirascael. If possible, it would be interesting if you could sort your data by year, since 2006 the pendulum should have swung massively towards dorfs (and khemri maybe, due to WIL^^).

"The gap from 20% to 6% is not unlike a few other coaches. Frankie's is 29% to 9% as a good example"
And those coaches would also fall into the category of one-race specialists.
In my opinion, the percentage alone doesn't tell the whole story. The percentage of the most played race, along with that of the second most played, does.
Posted by Russo on 2010-01-21 18:29:19
Hehehe zombie well you coul take it to the top three races..
Orc... Elf... and Gnoblar for me.....you cant get more varied than that can you :P
@ Frankie I did not take it badly I was just curious, also your Mirascael years should be inlcuded here as it was a straight name change so stats remain on page

So far I've played 36 of my 58 games (62%) with...
drum roll
who would have guessed it? :D
I just find it takes a while before getting reasonably good with a team. The fact I haven't played the other teams much just mean I still have to learn skaven tricks, they give me higher chances of winning events that I'd rather win, and they just appeal to me more.

Zombie69's point about considering not only your most played race but consider what the second most played race is to form some type of Blood Bowl coaching psychological profile is interesting.
Considering my first race is Human and second is Goblin.
I must have a serious Blood Bowl Psychological problem :}

39% woodies here
Posted by Zombie69 on 2010-01-21 19:35:59
You guys don't understand what i'm saying at all. The nature of your second most played race doesn't matter a single bit. The only thing that matters is the percentage for that race, and how close it is to the percentage of your first race. If it's close, then you're not really a one-race specialist. If it's far, then you are. 20% to 6% is enough of a discrepency to consider the 20% a significant result, and so is 29% to 9%. However, someone with 25% for his most played race and 20% for the second couldn't really be said to be specializing in the 25% race.

what am I? chopped liver? i demand to be stereotyped!
Posted by maysrill on 2010-01-21 20:02:15
Unfortunately I'm just a dabbler. Not so much as 10% with any single race. :(

I'm just glad you added PeteW to the list otherwise I look a right loser.
Thanks Orc Boy!

Oh yeah... and
Russo: "I haven't got time to run a league"
But you do have time to collate 500 coache's games, create a comparison chart, bitch and moan, and even pointless debate subject matter with zombie69.
Riiiight. :(
Posted by pythrr on 2010-01-21 20:25:44
hehe
well, maybe stats is WORK?
Posted by Russo on 2010-01-21 21:04:18
@ Sera...it too me 40 mins tops to do this.
I just copied the Stats page into excel, deleted all columns bar Race Used and the total games, then sort by number of games by played. Just copy a pre-written formula in and bingo!!
@ pythrr my chopped ofal faced friend :-)
I will add you tomorrow then !!!
@ Zombie69......
You cant be a one race specialist because you play 20% of games with one race when there are 30+ races available. Your argument only stands up if there was a small pool to chose from. Your position is akin to saying that 20% of the vote in an election is the majority and worthy of power because the other 80% is spread across 100 other parties.
The figure is relative and 250 game sout of 1700+ with one race out of 30+ races is not statistically telling enough. Indeed during my tallying up of data I had played more races than most of the others on the list. Many had only used 20 races if that.

"You cant be a one race specialist because you play 20% of games with one race when there are 30+ races available. Your argument only stands up if there was a small pool to chose from."
On the contrary, 20% is nothing if there are only 5 races, but it's a lot if there are 30.
"Your position is akin to saying that 20% of the vote in an election is the majority and worthy of power because the other 80% is spread across 100 other parties."
The current government in Canada was elected with less than 50% of the vote, because it was the party with the most votes. Not all countries have a voting system with multiple rounds, you know!
"The figure is relative and 250 game sout of 1700+ with one race out of 30+ races is not statistically telling enough. Indeed during my tallying up of data I had played more races than most of the others on the list. Many had only used 20 races if that."
It's telling when your second most played race only gathers 6%. In shows that in your sample, 20% is a huge number. For a coach with fewer races played, the second most played race is bound to have more than 6%, and so a higher percentage will be needed to consider it significant. Simple statistics really. When you've got a sample of numbers, and only one number is above 6, and that number is 20, that's huge.

I play 26% of my games with halflings. :)
