Just couldn't wait for the GLN could you :P

I couldn't it seems. However, I think it wouldn't hurt being on the GLN also. People were asking and didn't want to deprive them. Christmas holidays are coming and people may have time on their hands. :)

It's a good call. Now you have to write something else ;)

Nice one, I am OK with the image side of things in gimp for years, but really hated how poor the text part was. Never really considered to do it the way you describe here - will give it a go.

I generally use flamingtext or cooltext. Flamingtext has more options, but is more difficult to use, cooltext is relatively easy but may not have the font/theme you want.

hello man nice blog. i already use GIMP and cooltex. i only would like to curve the text. do you know a way to do it?
Posted by Throweck on 2014-12-17 00:30:49
I have used curved text in the past but I have used Wordart (in Word) and just followed the same procedure.

It's not so hard in Gimp, if you don't know how to do something, try google or youtube.
Here's a fairly good guide on how to do it.

First try with combining cooltext and image in gimp : https://fumbbl.com/p/team?team_id=743342
