Crown of Sand
Each year the Tomb lords of the Khemri meet at a charred and blackened crack in the desert. There, powerful magic is called upon from ancient Tomes and Lich Lords under vow to assist, and the dusty magical conflagration sends up a flaming beacon into the sky. Teams from all over the world see the sign and flock to the desert for the chance to compete for the Crown Of Sand. Tournament draw starts 22.00pm server time Wednesday 16th May 2018 Any Ranked or Blackbox team can apply here to the qualifiers. Prizes The Crown Of Sand gives the chosen player an instant and permanent +stat of the coaches choosing (to a maximum on any stat of +2 still) and also bestows the skill Decay. The coach may also, only at this moment, choose to fill their roster with as many Sand Skeletons as they wish. The first of these arrives skilled to 16spp and with the skill Pro and Leader, but all such Skeletons also recieve the skill Decay, to reflect that they are made from sand. They will have 30TV |

I know it has been like this for ages Throweck. With the risk of causing a shitstorm: back then it was "only" a Box major so who cares? Also, most of them had terrible prizes so this one was proportionate. Now that it's one of one 6 joint majors the prize is just too awful compared to all the others.

Accepting that the main thrust of your comment Cloggy is the quality of the prize. Remember that it is 'so I don't care' rather than 'so who cares'. Some of us enjoyed the box majors more :) That's not a comment on any decisions as to which ones to keep etc. just trying to give some balance.

While I think Cloggy had all the tact of a hand grenade there, he did have a point - B major prizes are pretty "meh" in comparison to the R majors.
I always thought this was by design since (a) you don't expect an extra player or w/e to last long in B anyway, and (b) B as a division at its incarnation (if not now), was effectively ideologically opposite to the idea of eg. temple guard like prizes.
Now that the majors are combined, it would make sense to revisit the prizes, especially if we have a prize that, to be frank, many coaches would actually simply reject taking - this is a potential bottleneck on participation, when the prize should actually encourage sign-ups.
For the record, I think the prize was quite fluffy and fun, and not at all overpowered in B (which was the aim). But that was in a different place, a different time, and for a different audience.

What AD said. This is a prize to winning a huge major tournament that honestly... I may not even want on my team at all. That sucks a lot of the fun out of participating and that's not what we want for a major.

I also remember that jokaero (CoS winner) was « apologizing » in his bio for the power of having skeleton in a nurgle team !
But it’s true that compared to the R prices, we also thought it was crappy :-)
