Hi everyone! I thought I'd add my contribution to the growing pile of 'Happy Christmas' threads that are going round.
I've been playing on Fumbbl since July - almost six months now - so I'm still pretty much a n00b, although I think I've played some good games and beaten some decent coaches since I've been here. I was introduced to Fumbbl by my good buddy
Jalapeno5 and I've been pretty much hooked on it since. Unfortunately, Jalapeno5 has since decided that the RNG is screwed and the dice are conspiring against him personally (/boo!), but I'm still here :D .
I really love the tourneys and all the stats, which are probably the main reasons why I keep playing, as well as the great community on the site. I guess my Fumbbl highlight so far must be getting to the final of the
Scheduled Smack VET LXIX with my undead team, the
Dread Crusaders, where they were ultimately beaten by Fukara in an exciting final. I also recently got my CR back above 150 for the first time since I started, which I'm really pleased with. I've made a real effort to improve my game over the last 2-3 months and it's definitely
paid off. There are a couple of forum threads relating to team development and TR management that I found particularly useful, and I'd recommend any new coaches out there to read them - there are links to both at the bottom of my profile page.
I'm also proud of the fact that so far I've only retired 3 teams out of 23. It seems to me that a lot of coaches retire teams unnecessarily, when they still could be rebuilt. I guess maybe some people do it for the sake of their CR/BWR ...
So, my goals for 2010:
- get my BWR back over 150 and stable (it's about 141 at the moment :( )
- win my first official tourney
- develop a decent team to >200 TR and enter a major for the first time
- become a 'Fumbbl supporter' :)
It's gonna be tough, but if I can achieve one or two of them I'll be happy :D .
Good luck to you all with ur teams and I hope to see as many of you as possible on the pitch next year! And a big THX to Christer and all the admins for the fantastic job you are all doing.
