Woohoo!
Exciting times. Downloading now and will give it a spin.
Note that Windows Defender gets pretty antsy about the .exe as it doesn't recognize the publisher.

Lol I had to tell windows about 10 times I understood the risk and wanted to run it anyway. Clearly Christer is such a shady character...
Very cool -> nice to spectate on full screen on a large monitor. Confirmed it worked for me on Windows quite nicely, even as a WIP it's pretty nice.

Hmmm. I installed the exe, and ran it. I double checked my username and password, but it wouldn't do anything. What did I do wrong?!
Posted by koadah on 2019-12-13 22:22:40
Windows 10.
It took a long time to log in.
It showed me the games list. When I selected a game it sat there for ages.
I quit and started again.
Now it won't go past the login screen. It is using 17% CPU.

Christer - how do we report bugs in a more structured way?
That captures our OS, platform setup etc..
Posted by PeteW on 2019-12-13 22:47:11
Weird - I pressed Escape, and then a menu popped up. I could see a list of games to spectate. But I click on one and get a bar of grey....
Posted by Christer on 2019-12-13 22:48:09
Uploaded a new Windows version that should make it use less CPU and run smoother on weaker systems. If it was slow or whatever, try downloading and installing the updated version now.

Thanks CK. I quit and retried, and it worked fine. I can see the potential! Great to have it full screen without having to change my screen resolution. xD
Posted by koadah on 2019-12-13 23:22:35
OK, so escape to get the menu.
I'm still getting the grey bar when trying to spectate though.

That is super cool. Thanks for the hard work.
Not sure if it's supposed to happen but I can zoom in and out using the wheel on my mouse! :D

koadah, the gray bar is a progress bar that shows the progress of downloading icons and portraits. If downloading of those images from the site takes so much time it stalls at that point, I have a hard time helping you. Either your network connection to the site is atrociously bad, or your computer is in dire need of a complete clean reinstall or an upgrade.
Posted by koadah on 2019-12-14 02:11:25
Wow Christer! What kind of images are these?
Seriously, it doesn't appear to even start. Nothing appears to happen.

It is still chewing 2-3% CPU.

Looking good. Spectating an R match worked great, but I did get the same problem Koadah had when trying to spectate 2 different SL matches - progress bar, but nothing loads and I had to kill the process from task manager.

Am I missing something? My problem was that login does not seem to work.
So, I wasn't logged in.
I got around it by going Settings | Dev Debug and entering client id and client secret.
The next time I opened it, it logged me in automatically. No login screen. Then it worked nicely.

Thanks guys, ive added a task to investigate login issues before the next release!
Posted by stowelly on 2019-12-14 09:05:00
Ok it looks like the buttons not hooked up. if you press enter after typing your username and password it should login just fine!
Posted by stowelly on 2019-12-14 09:58:34
and if you experience issues where the loading bar doesnt progress please restart the client, i think its related to having previously had issues logging in with the issue mentioned above, but once your logged in and have restarted it should function correctly!

Instead of using the button, hit Enter in the Login screen.

Hi ! Thanks for all this great work you are doing !
I'm trying the Linux Client on my Fedora 31 but it doesn't work at all.
Blocked on logging screen. I try entering the ESC menu to set my login/pwd (more than 10 tries with enter or clicking), quit, restart, but nothing works.
If somebody is using it on Linux let me know ;)
By the way, I'm glad to help finding/fixing bug in the future !
Cheers.

seems very very cool... i spectate a game, it was great :!! thx a lot

This looks very promising!
A thing I noted: when I zoom into the pitch too far the pitch turns upside down. Is it a bug or a feature? :) (I'm using the Mac version)
Posted by flashman1234 on 2019-12-15 09:47:48
:) Frylen. That’s just an interesting side effect. I think the (manual) zooming will be eventually removed, and the pitch will resize to fit the screen automatically.

Nice work, just specced a bit of a game. Seemed to work good on Windows.
Posted by AL3X_FR on 2019-12-16 14:19:10
For Linux users :
Work fine on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
Need a small workaround on Fedora 31 but after that it also works
