Thank you and the team for being pioneers in the Blood Bowl arena allowing us to play the closest possible way to the rulebook in the online environment.

Thank you Christer.

For C teams that are *way* over 15, will it apply agent fees in increments of 15 games or will it treat it as the first redraft?
Posted by koadah on 2025-01-19 07:17:11
All games will be treated as season 1.

One of the major milestones for FUMBBL! Great!
Posted by BeanBelly on 2025-01-19 10:45:40
Qn. Are you able to clarify if redraft will correct obsolete legacy players?
For example:
(A) player types E.g Necro Wights / Wraiths
(B) incorrect player skills E.g Chaos Dwarf Blocker Tackle Skill / Iron Hard Skin
(C) max player numbers e.g. only 2x Amazon Blitzers
Posted by Christer on 2025-01-19 11:14:26
The redrafting constraints themselves are somewhat out of scope for this (which is mainly focused on the transition when seasons are enabled).
That being said:
As part of the redrafting process, positionals will have to comply to current rules
The skills on each player, however, will not be restricted. If a player has funky combinations of skills, that will remain and be allowed to pass through the redrafting.
Chaos Dwarf Blockers, specifically, were changed and they all lost the tackle skill as part of the roster update.

Thanks for the impressive good work!
The question: will redrafting deal with niggling injuries and temporarily retirement?
Posted by Dynamix on 2025-01-19 13:30:05
From the answer to Beanbelly do I understand correctly that a Grandfathered Norse team with Catchers will lose the catchers.
Adding my thanks to you and your team to the previous

this is fantastic, FUMBBL launches out ahead as always.

Brilliant, thank you
"70k per game ramp-up for the cap"
What does this bit mean?
Does it mean the 1350k cap is only reached after playing 5+ games, and that if you did just 1 game and redrafted, the cap would be 1070?
"1000k gold base budget" - I assume that Treasury is also added to this?
Posted by Christer on 2025-01-20 15:15:06
Correct, and yes.

There was a Before.
There will be an After.
Not sure what it will look like exactly, and not sure that I'll like what I'll discover on the other side...
Time will tell.
So long to team building for the sluggish rosters.
Time for even more concentration of powers (or barebone riding galore !).

To echo proff70's question about niggling injuries and temporarily retirement,
I just had a match where I got a good player -ST himself on a unnecessary dodge...
If I park that team in the post-game state, until these changes go live, can I then temp. retire the player, and then redraft the team, with the hope of healing him?
Cheers
Posted by Christer on 2025-01-21 09:30:32
Yes, you can.

Excellent news, and great job.
Implementing the re-draft system was more than needed, imho.
Mega-thx to Christer and his techies!!

>> Sp00keh If I park that team in the post-game state, until these changes go live, can I then temp. retire the player, and then redraft the team, with the hope of healing him?
>> Christer: Yes you can
Not sure to have got this point: If i understand how redraft works the players with -ST (or whatever -stat) to be healed during the redraft he must be in your roster so cannot be retired.
So example: i am in game 11 (trophy) with my humans and i suffer -1ST to one blitzer. this means he is MNG and -1ST. So during Game 12 I cannot use him (I can fire or retire and hire a new rookie or I must keep in the roster). Then in Game 13 he return back and I can decide not to use or leave in reserves. If I retire him, he is out of the roster forever. In order to roll the healing roll after the 15th games during the season redraft he should be in the roster (not in the retired player).
But seems from Sp00keh question (and christer answer) that i can "retire" the player (eg in game 12) and than try to recover in redraft (but as i retired i can also hire a new blitzer in game 12).
thx for clariication !
Posted by MattDakka on 2025-01-21 14:33:24
As far as I know, you can temporarily retire an injured player at the end of the very match they got injured in, then you can try to heal them at Season's end, during the Re-Draft roster adjustment process.
Posted by Malmir on 2025-01-21 18:29:11
Does it affect your positional numbers? E.g. can I get another blitzer to replace him while he is temporarily retired if I already had four (including the injured player)?
Posted by The_Murker on 2025-01-21 19:03:37
My understanding was more like that injured player will be MNG for the remainder of the season, taking up a slot AND a positional until Game 1 of the next season, where he is forced to be on your team, whether they heal or not.
Posted by MattDakka on 2025-01-21 19:04:08
They still take the positional slot up for the remainder of the Season.
Posted by RDaneel on 2025-01-21 19:59:40
Yes . I totally forgot rule in page 72 which I quote here “During the post-game sequence of a game in which a player suffers a Last Injury result in the Casualty table, that player may be given time off to recover. [… omissis…]. They remain as part of your team and are not deleted from your Team Draft List. They cannot take part in any further games this season but they will still count towards both the maximum number of players of their type allowed by the team roster, and 16 player maximum. “
And then can be tried to heal during season redraft.
Thx all for clarification .

Amazing news, absolutely fantastic.
Everybody has been longing for the complete BB2020 rules ever since the Competitive division was opened.
Everyone who was of different opinion complained loudly or silently 4 years ago and left the site. By now people have made peace with the rules or left.
Just one thing, why the extra rules for teams that abused the absence of team building rules that were always announced to define C? Why not the same rules for all coaches? Why create an uneven playing field for tournaments for years to come? Nobody will consider it harsh to redraft by standard rules as that has always been the plan since C was created. And surely nobody wants to win a tournament with a team that was built using a cheat?
Posted by DoctorMidnight on 2025-01-22 12:00:39
Imho, both Majors and Minors should mention : "100%-built-in-the-Box teams ONLY".
Posted by Christer on 2025-01-22 13:32:31
Rawlf, I don't quite follow the argument about existing teams. What extra rules are you referring to?
Existing C division teams that have 15 games played will be pushed into end-of-season as if they had readied up with seasons enabled.
Teams with more than 15 games will be forced into redrafting on top of that, which effectively only affects their ability to enter tournaments and they have to redraft before being eligible for that, precisely avoiding people sitting on monster teams and bringing them into major tournaments (although that would be prevented by tournament modes anyway).
Posted by Rawlf on 2025-01-22 15:41:46
I am refering to treating any number of games played as season one. Nobody could build 2 legend trees on a fling team in one season. Or 5 legend Vamps. Or 4 legend bloaters or whatever. Giving hundreds of TV as budget discount through agent fee exceptions will cause a lot of unfairness imo. Teams in the first game of season 2 will look very different when one team had a 15 games season one and another had a 200 games season one. Unless I misunderstood something here.
Posted by MattDakka on 2025-01-22 16:00:03
With a max Re-Draft budget of 1350k to re-hire players it will be impossible to keep 5 Legend Vampires, 4 Legend Bloaters etc.
Posted by Rawlf on 2025-01-22 17:31:07
How many can you do? 3? If those 3 players have played 150 games each, you'd get 600 budget TV discount in agents fees.
It takes a few seasons to build fling tree legends for example. Getting two means building through several redrafts, if you can do it at all before agent fees eat you up. Unless your first season was 150 games long. XFL Flings will not happen on a level playing field.
Posted by Sp00keh on 2025-01-22 19:51:11
Rawlf's right, legacy teams will have been built without agent fees as a drag on their development, which puts them in a stronger position than new teams
Posted by Nightbird on 2025-01-23 02:18:23
Seems like the issue most have is wanting cumulative agent fees for teams that have played more than 15 games. IE: a 60 game player should incur an 80k agent fee & so on in order for this to be fair & work as seasons are intended.
Posted by Christer on 2025-01-23 15:35:37
Adjusted the FAQ answers in the post with an updated policy.
Posted by MattDakka on 2025-01-23 15:44:41
Over time, even with the agent fee discount, it will be hard to keep many Legends.
I don't think we have to worry too much about that.

Dear Christer and everyone who is responsible for the implementation of this, thanks for your hard work and constant commitment to this great place. Redraft is a very significant change for sure. I don't know about the boon or bane of this change yet, however one thing is for sure: Matt will have one less reason to complain. And that's like a breath of fresh air for sure! [just kidding Matt :)]
Posted by MattDakka on 2025-01-25 11:53:06
I will find other things to complain about! ;P
Posted by pedro_fgomes on 2025-01-26 23:23:22
Thanks for this, big C! TL:DR is redraft implemented in [L] also? Will it be automatic, or something that League commissioners will have to toggle in some kind of menu before creating a League? What about currently existing leagues?
