FUMBBL has had a little bit of an influx of players lately, and that has (as expected) caused an increased number of support issues for staff to deal with. Given that the site staff all do what they do on a voluntary basis, I typically try to aim for a 24 hour response window and we've been unable to maintain this for a little while now.

I say this without any pressure on the current staff members, as there is no pressure to be super active every day to deal with tickets as they appear. So instead of pestering existing staff members to "do more, work faster" I am reaching out to the community to see if any of you would be willing to assist with staff duties.

Now, every time I talk to people about this I stress that it's really not something that is "fun" to do. The roles (on site and on Discord) come with a fairly strong negative set of things to do. A lot of the tickets we deal with are fairly simple (resetting matches, unreadying teams, changing skill choices), but sometimes there is a need to deal with people who are being rude and/or toxic. This latter part is absolutely not fun but is a critical part of maintaining the community.

With this post, I am not making any kinds of guarantees that those of you who get in touch will be getting a staff role. My hope is that we find 2 or 3 people who are suitable.

There are a couple of requirements for this role:
- Must have been on the site for a while, and have a good understanding of the site rules, and agree with the overall direction and policies.
- Discord presence. I want staff members to be on Discord fairly regularly (this doesn't mean anywhere near 24/7 presence). The Discord admin actions (primarily deleting messages) also requires 2-factor authentication to be enabled. This is encouraged for all staff users (and generally speaking good practice)
- Good relation with the current staff team. All current staff members will have a veto right for new staff members. It's critical that we have a staff team who are able to cooperate and talk internally without hostilities for obvious reasons.

On top of these requirements any non-English language skills are a bonus (Spanish, French, and Italian are the primary ones that do crop up occasionally).
