On the plus side, the boy did learn something valuable: never to trust members of his family ever, ever again.

OMG how traumatizing is that for the poor kid? In this world we don't have enough nice people and these heathens ruin their own child. Makes me sick to be a human being. I think I'll skip playing and hang with my children tonight. So horrible. I'm deeply saddened by this.

My daughter is 6 and I'm with you, Keggie... this makes me ill. That is some awful awful stuff. That kid is either going to never trust another human being again, or will end up trusting the wrong type of person who just tells him everything he wants to hear. I'm ashamed for humanity...

Thank goodness they took that child away from that family. I sure hope the kid turns out OK and never has to deal with something like that again. That is just terrible.....

wow....just wow. As per the previous comments, I hope this child finds happiness and some balance after this horrific act.
However
For every story like this there's lots of small pieces of humanity win, it's a shame they don't sell papers/get views

Reckon he's young enough to get over it with no lasting damage. But yeah, very stupid people.

It's definatly funny.
From the perspective of a six year old child its probably quite hard to tell what are the behavioral boundaries of our society. I think on the long run the most thraumatizing thing for the child will be what happened after the incident: The family in custody and the child in child protection... So the lesson the child learned in the end is probably: Be cautious what you tell to whom.
Do not really condone the whole raise your child in a bubble so that it becomes desillusioned with the world and turns into a terrorist.
..On the other hand staging some fake kidnapping is just a way to raise a child in yet another bubble, which is a bubble of fear... nothing to do with reality really
ah well.. parents..

The parents are now getting a lesson of their own and I for one think that's no less than what they deserve for being so damn stupid. Given the choice I think I'd go for maybe using books and talking to him over simulated abduction and trauma.
