I thought for a while about the title. It could be 'CheatARR'. It could be 'LuckARR'. It could be 'WinnARR'.

And maybe all would be true. I was challenged Here by ArrestedDevlopment to Sprint in B with an ARR race to raise moneys for Christer and FUMBBL. The ARR races are the 8 least played races in B, though it was always incredibly likely that I wouldnt be getting my hands on High Elves, and some even know I have a fair amount of experience with Pro Elves. nope, it was always going to be a stunty race.

I agreed. People pledged money. Far more than I thought. I'd expected maybe $150, if we pushed it hard. it was quickly double that. So instead of one sprint I agreed to two. With Flings and Goblins. Despite playing over 5000 games here, stunty races had never tempted me so these would be my first 32 games as a stunty coach. I decided to plunge in with no research, read no tactics guides and spectated no games. I just launched in, curious as to what would happen.

This has been done before, though a single sprint, and that one ended with a 4/4/8 record. I felt that was ambitious, but I could see myself maybe scraping a few wins. No one said I couldnt be a munchkin and use some hires and other tricks to try and get the odd edge here and there.

But I got really lucky. Really, really lucky. And it went rather well, i think.

My Halflings: Chronicles Of PC, UnbelievARR ended 6/4/6

Halfings are shit at BB, there is absolutely no denying it, they have no damn right to be on a BB pitch. i consider it a minor miracle that they ended 'even' and teams like this, with winning records in B, impress the hell out me. In R, less so.

My Goblins: Covenant of PC, UnbelievARR ended 9/4/3

Thanks to a great early run and some key luck the Gobbo's had a cracking time, while they too are terrible at BB, they are, to my mind, markedly better than Flings. Maybe I just got luckier, but I don't think so. I think they deserve to be counted as a tier higher than Flings.

In total my first 32 stunty games end 15/8/9.
I am amazed, I enjoyed myself thoroughly in almost every game, even the hopeless ones, and almost every opponent seemed to have some fun too, even a few who lost. Someone who ought to know called me a filthy lucker with stunties. Another said I had done a few things differently to normal. Both are probably right, and i shall at some stage write a Forum thread throwing out a few ideas and see where i was going wrong.
