One World, One Blood Bowl #30 Dwarves are OP?
You wanted it, you got it.
Episode 30 of One World, One Blood Bowl will deal with the most requested title we have ever had, variations around the question: Dwarves are OP? and how do you solve it?
As a lover of the 5th Stunty race, i am fare from convinced, so i have stacked the panel with people who are wrong, and lets see if they can persuade me. live on my twitch, at 9pm UK time this sunday, i will cede some time to my guests, and their wild and incorrect views on Dwarves.
PurpleChest: A self styled 'elf aficionado', but secretly likes to occasionally Dwarf.
AndyDavo: Hates Dwarves, but loves Nando's, so provably questionable taste.
Heff: Hates Dwarves, was forced to play a year of dwarves for charity, so quit Blood Bowl.
Mikoyan74: Hates Dwarves, stunty coach, league player and everyman. Wrote me a 2 page letter explaining why he hates dwarves.
So i have stacked the odds against me, but i have av9 and Thick Skull. As always it will go live 9pm Sunday and then on youtube and podcasting sites a day or so later, you can join in by attending the live show, and/or by asking questions or points here, and i will try to include them.

Dwarves are not OP, they simply shut down the game for 1/4 of opponents.
Is there need for such a griefer team? Maybe.
Can they be remade into something less polarised?
I like the lore, it's a shame they're a point and click team in so many matchups.

I also advocate for the removal of blue decks, terran ghosts, and dwarf tackle spam. In general, widespread 'stop your opponent from doing cool things' mechanics are a detriment to play. This has nothing to do with balance, just gameplay feel.

I would expect a shake up of the Dwarf team for BB based on how roster changes have been going for those already done, but have no idea of GW's release schedule and whether that's on there. Changes to Amazons seem to be directly related to Dwarfs being a strong counter to them
On the plus side in BB2020 - random MVP means it's a bit tougher to run a 1 RR + Leader + guard spam team and you'll see more teams with 2 runners now due to them being best SPP accumulators. Also, Roller buff is fun yet still TV inefficient
Anyhow, I like Dwarf fluff and used to hate Dwarfs a few years ago. The hate is almost comical sometimes and often out of proportion.

Dwarfs are my favourite fantasy race, I guess because they grumble a lot about everything like me. I don't hate them, I even own a WH Dwarf army, but in my very humble opinion their underpriced Tackle spam is the issue.
I'd remove that. Default Tackle could be ok on the Blitzers, but not widespread.
Also, in some games the Tackle spam vs teams without Dodge players is dead TV. So, removing Tackle seems to be the right move to me. That would probably require an Amazon roster rework, as consequence.

If I had to play one game against an unknown opponent, for more money than I can afford to lose' I would run Dwarves Have answers to annoif TV 1000; Are they broken? No, Just have answers to Blodgy gits and big STR goons.
