I am planning to have a long Blood Bowl night (the first one in months, maybe for a year even) on January 3rd, FUMBBL's 10th anniversary. This is how it'll (hopefully) work:
I'll try to have the kids asleep by 21:00 bbtime. Absolutely no guarantee for this, but if two of the three are down, I should be able to start. Depending on this, I expect to begin playing between 21:00 and 22:00 bbtime. And will try to continue until 3:00 or 4:00 bbtime. Roughly 6 hours of FUMMBLing! I hope to play three to five games during this time, depending on how slow play, interruptions, finding games, updating team/player bios and maybe even resting a little in between effect the process.
Each time I start looking for a new game (with the notable exception of earlier arranged Ranked games, see below), I'll decide whether my main focus shall be on fun this time or on learning. It goes without saying that the secondary aspect should always included as well. :-) The focus doesn't necessarily determine whether the match-up has to be a tough one or against an excellent coach, since I still have to practice basics (which I can do in "easier" matches) and regularly have tons of fun in matches I don't stand a chance in.
Taking a look at my Ranked and Box teams, I come up wit the following candidates:
"Fun" teams
- Agility Monsters (R, dwarves 2140k)
- Circus Rabe (R, chaos pact 1070k - needs to be built up a new elf as well)
- Feed the Tree (B, wood elves 1580k - featuring Rahnaic Moonclaw)
- Madmen and Psychopaths (B, dwarves 1390k)
- Return of The Retired (B, nurgle 1140k)
"Learning" teams:
- Tallyman's Servants (R, nurgle 1070k - needs some develoment)
- House Craban's Coaching Staff (B, high elves 1100k)
- Low and Mighty Blow (B, flings 970k)
- Positional Zombies (B, necros 1050k)
- (B)locked (B, dwarves 1000k)
One reason I'm posting this: If you are interested in playing any of my Ranked teams, feel free to offer me a game - either spontaneously on Thursday or just here right away. In the latter case I'll happily try to catch you online and arrange the game if it fits my current mood (which it most likely will if I know I'll have a good time playing with and against you)! Telling me when you'll roughly be available should help as well. :-)
In case of the Agility Monsters you might as well (or in addition) join the newly founded
fan group or
hate group!
In case you really made it this far: Thanks for reading! :-D
Are you planning something special for the anniversary and if so, what will it be?
Cheers
Rabe
Edit:
Just realized any matches past midnight won't benefit (or suffer) from the birthday feature... hence I'm probably gonna change my plan and try to play some games during the day and in the evening
before midnight!
