With the migration going on, I ask myself: What changes will the new rule set bring for my (wannabe)
elfballing dwarves? Am I looking forward to it?
Death on the pitch!
My team has collected 8 niggling injuries, allocated to five players. I guess I'll have to wave some of them goodbye soon - or not? I'll for sure try to get dodge on any niggler. Nothing bad about death on the pitch - but I'd rather prefer to keep them alive as long as possible. Yes, I'm kind of a pixel hugger.
Watch out for
Namosz "Two-Hammer" Redbeard and his three niggling injuries!
Player development unlimited!!
One reason why I didn't play my team lately (besides the new shiny box) was my fear of aging. My speedy blitzer
Ramnah "The Black Maiden" Deepfire will probably soon be the first super star I'll be able to field ever!
I'm generally exited about further development of all my beloved dwarves under CRP.
Fend - the new skill for mobile dwarves!
Heard nothing yet about combining Guard and Fend on longbeards, but I'm definitely looking forward to it! Since I shun the usual basher skills (Mighty Blow, Piling On) my favorite options so far have been Pro and Pass Block (especially in combination they worked quite well from time to time). I guess Fend will be my choice after Pro now.
I'm also looking forward to Nerves of Steel and Safe Throw on my runners, as soon as they have developed far enough.
The hunt for top 10 entries will continue!
Not sure whether any changes affect the probability to reach the dwarven top 10 in the non-bashy categories. Fend might help with longbeards scoring and intercepting. Improved/changed passing skills might increase the chance to create related records.
Anyhow, I'm
really looking forward to continue my hunt!
The Deathroller...?
Probably fun, but so not fitting to the team concept. Plus, considering I choose my skills quite strange already, the team doesn't need a heavy increase on TV.
I will definitely get one for one of my B teams though.
Fear of the Claw...
I don't like my players dying (pixel hugger, you remember?) but I don't fear those claw guys. If death approaches, there won't be much to stop it. Well, maybe Fend will help against Piling On...
Just bring the killer guys, let's dance!
New opponents?
Chaos Pact - another basher team (at least if built the usual way) the Monsters will try to run out with their elfballing skills!
Underworld - though I'm not eager to kill, these guys will probably only suffer a little less then against "usual" dwarves.
Slann - looking forward to this, a whole new play-style awaiting to be countered (somehow hopefully)!
Dwarves don't wrestle, man!
High movement and agility teams will be even more a challenge with a lot of Wrestle around. I guess my dwarves will look quite poor from time to time... but they do anyway and I'll still enjoy those games a lot - actually they're the best chance for my player to learn a thing or two about elfballing!
Yes, I'm definitely looking forward to playing ranked with my anti-dwarves very much. Can't wait, actually! :-D
