Dungeonbowl Highlanderturnement - Teaser
There can only be one...
With the Online Welsh Open ending (well done Timetis!) it's time to start talking about what is next for Online NAF. Things are a little different this time. We are going to team up with our third TT Major of the year, the Dungeonbowl, to bring you another tournament featuring nifty physical prizes and a spin on the usual ruleset.
The full rulespack for the Dungeonbowl Highlanderturnement will be available on or before next Monday, November 14, and applications will then open. The tournament will begin on Monday night, November 21. What's different this time? Well, we're embracing the chaos of Dungeonbowl and adding a little bit of random to the mix. This time, the format will be a straight KO and every team will get a free special play card!
Dungeonbowl Highlanderturnement Summary
- Individual, non-progression Blood Bowl!
- Team treasury: 1.15 M gold. All inducements are permitted except Special Play Cards, Mercenaries and Team Wizards. Teams must hire 11 rostered players before adding Star Players
- Format: KO. All games feature overtime!
- Tier 1 teams recieve a free Magic Item Special Play Card every game. Tier 2/3 teams may instead select a Dirty Trick
- Weekly rounds
- Skill package 4 normal, 2 double skills
- Physical Dungeonbowl prizes available including minis, a pitch and free 2017 entry
So, there you have it. Pencil into your diaries, we do it all again in a couple of weeks! :D

The Dungeonbowl
The Dungeonbowl is one of the NAF's five yearly Major tournaments. The format is 5 games of Swiss followed by a final, which takes place in a Dungeon under DB rules! The tournament in 2017 takes place over the weekend of April 8/9 in Dusseldorf, Germany. Interested? Check out the details. It's always a cracker, get yourself to Germany!

I would rather see a "classic" swiss-format tournament.
Why? --> NAF-tournaments are usually played in this format. And "Straight KO" is not related to the Dungeon Bowl at all. AND There are plenty of "straight KO" tournaments on this site already

Appreciate the thoughts. This is one KO tournament in two years of Online NAF tournaments, and not the standard. It's nice to shake things up occasionally, and some people prefer a KO. I know that the format of the tournament doesn't have much to do with the DB form of the game, but it is a way of representing random / chaos a little.
I know it's not for everyone, but rest assured it's a bit of variety, not the norm.

There are no ko ressurection tournaments so far. And in an online environment swiss is not really ideal if you only wanna play for the win.

I know that's used in some FUMBBL leagues, but I don't think it's so well known it's confusing. Plus, German. So different, like. ;)

@Strider: Why is the Swiss-format not suitable if you play for the win online? You have to win five or six games in a row no matter the format, or not? What am I missing here?
