To the guy that keeps blogging Star Wars stories.... Why?!
I've long been the lone voice in my group of friends that groans when Star Wars comes up. What is it with this franchise that keeps people so transfixed? Episodes 1-3 aren't even worth comment. They are the worst kind of summer blockbuster, tacked together by Lucas to make another $x billion. When Vader screamed 'Nooooooo!' in the cinema I saw the third movie in, everyone errupted into laughter at how poorly the scene was acted. And the original trilogy... Eh? Why the love?
I can see the good points. The lightsabre is a lone flash of genius. That invention alone means that the film is worth a look. But the rest of it. Wow. No dialogue, terrible plot development, useless acting.... All from the same country that saw fit to can the series 'Firefly', which exhibited so much promise.
Ho hum.
This article expresses my amazement at Star Wars' popularity better than I ever could - but one thing is for sure; I don't think anyone wants to read the story on a BB site, even the most hardened fan.
I'm prepared for the flack (well, the inevitable 1 rating at least). I realise everyone wants to make the sweet love to Lucas. I've just got no idea as to why. :(
Next - why the game 'Goldeneye' was overrated. I think I just like lost causes....
