If the Top of the CR can hear me from all the way at the bottom of the pile, I'd like to say I couldn't agree more.
Its good to hear a fellow Lancastrian speaking sense.
But more to the point, I have just got on with having fun even if I do lose most matches. Very quietly just getting on with digging my hole. Personally I enjoy the challenge of building a good team against adversity. I'm sure some coaches would like to play with some of the teams I've built up from a diet of draws and losses.
I'm sure I am a joke to most of "teh l33t" but thats R for you, I think your criticism "I don't like how Major Teams are Built using the R system" is true but thats the way they like to play and I am the centre of the Venn Diagram where all the styles meet.
maybe I have found my niche after Just completing my Rookie Year (as of April 28th) in L, which is more Fluff driven and I can't be the victim of Cherry PIcking. But even then I like every division when I want a game.
Live and Let Live?

Sadly he's not a lancastrian, he's an imported southern nancy come up here to steal our jobs.
Hope you enjoyed writing that goo, you've just spoiled 5 of my precious "fun minutes" reading your drivel.
Nah, only kidding. well said and I support your sentiment. and in the word of Michael Jackson (i hope you don't go to quite such extremes) take a look at yourself and make that change.

I don't see what's wrong with promoting what you think is fun. If someone disagrees, they can just go off and do what they want. Whereas if you keep quiet, orthodox opinions persist unchallenged, and plenty of people probably shuffle in step with everyone else, aware that they are looking for something more but unable to work out what it is.
Please, resume vocal criticism of majors, we need more people to combat the foolish standard view that these are ultimate tests of blah blah blah and actually important, rather than a closed shop for a few people and an invitation for others to screw up their teams in the vain hope of getting somewhere.
Similarly, if people want to promote blackbox, then they should do so. Obviously any sort of promotion by those of us who think ranked is generally less cool than blackbox is going to be somewhat confrontational! But that shouldn't be seen as an attempt to force everyone to leave ranked, it should be seen as a way of grabbing like-minded people and making them think that blackbox is good for them. We're not going to attract people who like to choose their teams and choose their opponents, we want to reach out to people who are blackbox material but are treading water in ranked because it's the normal thing to do and they have yet to realise that the normal thing is not for them.
The world would be a much more boring and uninspiring place if we weren't allowed to employ over-the-top rhetoric to inspire people to follow a non-standard point of view.

Cetus...
Its OK to have an opinion but the "[B] iz Bestest" crowd are abit vociferous in their opinion and a bit condecending in chat some times.
Me...[B] does not apeal to me at this moment in time. Maybe in the future I will give it a go but I will stick to 85% [L] groups and 15% [R] & [S] as they are the things that apeal to me the most.
I have no problem with coaches playing [B] only if they enjoy it and dont gripe.

I suspect it is down to your opinions... the pro-B brigade don't bother me because I'm one of them. The Omigod! Tournaments are the ultimate and there is no point in playing without them! crew are the ones that really annoy me these days, but I expect this is less that they're annoying and stupid and more that I m fundamentally opposed to what they're saying.
One reason people will always exaggerate their case is that they're trying to influence people in positions of authority, and that is rarely done by being calm and reasonable and so on... it would be nice if it this would work, but I guess you have to live in the world you're in (or just ignore it and accept you're never going to get your way -- my preference usually!).
Another is that no advertising campaign ever succeeded by saying "This product is about as good as other similar products!". I don't think this is a bad thing, as long as you're not telling lies, being over-the-top is reasonable and it probably makes the world more fun. At least it does to me.
So I don't think we should get worked up about Fun Police, we should just be wary about taking everyone too seriously, and seeing everything as an attack on our preferences, and enjoy the fact that sometimes we an be enthused by an idea if it is expressed in a dramatic way.
Peace & Love,
Nath
