Fling Cycle Completed!
My Halflings (Public Shame) Have completed my first EVER Cycle. The Cycle Record was 10/3/11. I think It was somewhat respectable. This is something I have wanted to try and do for a while now. /Phew for me getting it finished! My next goal is to finish the Power Cycle. A Power Cycle is to gain a Win over every race. This is going to be tough, but it will be fun to get accomplished. 13 teams down, and 11 to go! 31 games so far, and I have a 13/4/14 record. Not bad, if I do say so myself. I expected a lot worse.
My third goal is to be competitive in Box with Flings. That will be the Hardest of the goals. I am going to pursue that goal after my Power Cycle is completed. The Teams that are still needed are:
Dwarves
Necromantic
Amazon
Wood Elf
Skaven
Norse
Chaos Dwarf
High Elf
Vampire
Underworld
Elf

Before you embark on your box mission, how will you define 'competitive'?
Winning more than losing? Losing less than half your games?

As for flings in the box, it may be easier than you think. You will have to play more dwarves than you would like, but lots of low TV teams choose skills other than tackle early on, and flings in the box tend to stay low TV (on account of the death rate). It's hard but it can be done!

Waffles the way! but yeah what grue said. other than the occasional dwarf norse or minmax team its not horrible. but you rarely if ever can get one babe let alone the chef for inducements

Competitive, I guess would refer to 500 record? I haven't really thought about it. Putting up a good fight, may be a better answer.

A 500 record would be very competitive over a sustained number of games.
Two fling outfits have managed 100 games in the box, both exclusively in the LRB6 era when chefs etc are almost impossible to secure outside of tournaments. Both have managed to lose just more than 50% of their games.
