After 10 years of Fumbbl what have I learned? I have learned that I still have a lot to learn about this game. Sometimes I play like a legend, and sometimes I play like a rookie. That is the great thing about this game is that as soon as you think you have it figured out you get your own arse handed to you on a silver platter. The things I do enjoy seeing are the newbies coming in here and asking the same questions I did ten years ago. It shows the game is still growing, even if the old timers are stepping away. I also look at my friends list and am starting to notice the once familiar names are starting to disappear. Some common and fun coaches are now beyond a 1 year of absence. I wonder where they be? At least there are the new characters popping in and making things amusing. That is a good sign.
At Chaos cup this year, I got to meet several Fumbblers in person. Jeffro, Burpgun, Stimme, Sundevil, Fatfinely, Purplegoo, Geggster, the jimini twins, amoung others. A week later I got to meet more guys at the Spike that I've only ever conversed online. Garyt1, pythrr, frostitute, and again I could name several more. That is the part that makes this game more interesting to me as I get older. The social aspect of the game keeps me coming back. Oh how I do enjoy bull shifting during a live TT game. I try to do this same or as much as possible with the online games. There is a misconception that you cant have a social aspect to the online game. It's hard to do this, but it can happen with some politeness and patience. Again it is even hard for me to do this at times, but I try to. I have to sometimes stop playing and reset into the fun polite person. No one is perfect, yet the game rewards the one who is.
So in synopsis, thank everyone who I have met, played against, angered, sworn at, /laugh'ed at, /cheer'ed for, /boo'ed at and connected with. Thanks to the robust amount of admin over these ten years. Thanks to the driving force behind this, Christer. Thanks to every to whom I have met and to whom I will meet. Also FU Nuffle, you soured, crippled, pusstious, garbled, piece of lint covered half sucked hard rock candy. I hate you more than anything. And always remember one thing:
