I just joined the NAF because of the current election. Haven't decided on who I'm voting for, but I've narrowed it down.

If not attending tournaments is there much reason to join?

I joined the NAF early this year when I went to a couple of tourneys (Merseybowl, NAFC). I haven't been following the election, and have little interest in it, because I don't really see much relevance to me/the game/the community in it. Most of my BB is played here, some in my TT league, and the minority in TT tourneys. NAF only has any involvement in the smallest portion, and beyond effectively being required to join at most tourneys, that involvement appears to be minimal.
Perhaps if I was a heavy tournament goer, or more competitive and interested in their rankings, or a TO myself, I'd be more interested. Perhaps. Though I still struggle to see how a change in the president would have much affect on any of those. I think to really be interested, NAF would have to do more than sanction tournaments and compile rankings (both pretty much irrelevant to me as a player who isn't aiming to be world number one; I'm not that bothered whether I'm 298th or 59th in the UK, for example). Getting the dice was a nice bonus, but I already have plenty of block dice, and I don't feel any need to collect every year's set. And of course, that has stopped now anyway.
Just what else they could do that would get me interested, I don't know. As I say, they just seem largely obsolete.

I used to be massively into figures, for a long long time (1985-2008ish) however I've totally lost interest in them for some reason. I think mainly as I can do much more with pixels than I can with figures.
Actually now that I think about it, I think another reason is that we aren't allowed GW products here anymore, I was a massive believer in having real figures as player pics. I was really disappointed to lose all my pics in that way, and looking at it now, I guess there was no reason to continue painting or collecting. Wow......I never realised that!
I see the NAF as a TT only organisation, and it doesn't really affect me either way. The whole rise of the competitive TT scene certainly does interest me, but it kind of passed me by whilst I was in part of the world there is no interest.
So, yes it's interesting, but it isn't something that needs my involvement.

The NAF is relevant to every Blood Bowler, even if they don't know it. I believe Christer was one of the men that founded it.
A healthy NAF is good for us all. If a plonker gets in and makes some poor decisions, the effects will be felt across the game. The ripples might be less obvious on FUMBBL, but they will be there.
If you are a member, read the Q&A, make a decision and vote.

I suggest a write-in campaign to elect Christer and have FUMBBL take control of the NAF, just for fun.

Thanks for pointing this out! Don't log into the NAF forum often, so completely missed this.
Much better than last years cat-fight-with-handbags-at-dawn of an election. Very interesting reads, and some good viewpoints...will be a tricky decision!

Hopefully people get the emails, and you can always follow OfficialNAF on Facebook and Twitter! /advert over

I vote for pie!

Who ate the pie? Fatbanger did!
It was tough for me to vote on a person. I have now voted. It came down to who I thought had most common sense with their answers. I liked one persons BB agenda more than the rest, and found him to have a good grip with reality. All candidates represented themselves well.
