Red for Blitzers, Yellow for catchers, Plain for Line frogs.

Awesome! Right up there with Lego teams! \o/
I know many will find it blasphemous, but I like these fun alternative teams.

Everyone has the simular teams at a tourney. Thats why I like alternative teams. To be different.

I both like and dislike this. Painted real minis looks really good, but somtimes the pitch can be a mess in TT (prone big guys, scrums with dark painted figures etc). I'd like to test this myself to see if i play better. Is this allowed in tourneys?

A lot of tourneys will allow it, they just stipulate that it should be clear that whatever you use, it should be clear which player is which. The coloured bases and having numbers on them would satisfy that. Of course, it's still an abomination. If you want to be different, convert/sculpt some actual minis...

i'd prefer Lego teams here, your idea is cool but for the stunned/prone players it may be hard to read on the pitch :)
have fun in your tournament !

Ill be labelling and tagging all players. Ive already started doing that. Prone and Stunned players wont be a problem seeing. We also use 40 mm boards so the "mess" of prone players is not a problem. Bigger the better.
@Pigstar. The point of this is to make an inexpensive team to give away to new recruits. It isnt meant to be long term. Its just a fun way to create a team. I have the cash to purchase teams, I just don't like to. Some people want to play, but do not have the funds. Ive seen much worse than this show up at a game.

They look like they'd roll around if you knocked them over, and you need a front and back for knocked down/stunned. Are you going to file flat spots on them?

I get your point but in my mind its taking the piss. sorry :-)
