No dead elves
Well, it wasn't to be. No elves died although a few were maimed. In the end, I only had myself to blame.
I was a little sleep deprived and, to boot, had just driven for 3 hours as well. Unable to concentrate, I made a hash of several plays, including the final one.
The same happened to me in a Legend SMACK final yesterday as well. Tired, in need of sleep, I played anyway, and made a mess of overtime.
The lesson has been drilled into me twice, lets see if I learn it. If you're not in a fit state to concentrate for up to 2 hours, then don't play a tournament match. You'll just throw the game away.
Congratulations for Jeguan and now to look forward until the next major.

I yesterday played while constantly being slightly distracted by my wife (and not in a pleasant way) and did some mistakes that most likely cost me the game, too. Sometimes you just want to get a game done and/or are eager to play despite the circumstances just not being right... a shame, really.

Thing is, after I'd wound down and watched a movie with my son, and he went to bed, I checked out the replay. I spotted the "correct" play (above) in about 10s. Yet over 2 minutes I couldn't see a thing during the game.
Too tired, and gave it away. A shame, because overtime was nicely poised - 8 elves against 11 orcs could go either way, whoever kicks, plus Jeguan was out of rerolls.
