Remembering Pantheon
Every now and again I follow the rabbit hole and end up looking at something I'd previously forgotten. Different kinds of fetishes... erm... like scoring with a black orc? Pantheon is a member of a very exclusive club with 33TDs. No other ranked or blackbox black orc even makes the lists.
Games 51 and 55 saw him suffer -AV injuries. He would go on to play 169 - that's 114 games with AV7. I remember opponents getting very frustrated fouling, piling on, and hitting him repeatedly only to see those pixels remaining strong on screen! It got even more amusing after 2 niggling injuries in games 107 and 111, so his final 58 matches were played with AV7 and +2 to injury!
His onfield exploits didn't just involve scoring touchdowns and suffering injuries - he inflicted 103 casualties and killed some very notorious opponents, including Morg n' Thorg, Grashnak Blackhoof, and one vindaloo (sadface at the successful apo).
He was part of a team that ascended to 2770k TV, with 4 legends and 4 super stars in its ranks, and would survive its rapid decline after being crushed by the infamous Hellbound Charioteers. He played many memorable games against great opponents, losing some and winning others. Too many to list, really.
He finally met his demise at the hands of a pomber elf. A strange end to a storied career. At one point he was the all time leading black orc not just for TDs, but also rushing, casualties, and blocks thrown - he's since been overtaken in the latter 2.
