...and it was a relief, a proverbial weight off the shoulders.
I'm impulsive and idiotic at the best of times. I got so into this ELF season that I played my team into the ground (literally, attrition retired it aided by reckless and moronic play). It looks like sorat will win it unless somebody else has a late run - well done sorat! Hey, given what happened when
we played, you deserve it!
Still, it's time to put the
kind of energy I put into that ELF nonsense (no, ELF is not nonsense, I mean: playing relentlessly and attempting to score big every game whilst reaping the damage that sows -
a hiding to nothing) into something else.
That means work and exercise. For a while I wanted to try my hand at boxing. I did a bit of white collar boxing until I hurt my back last summer and it took nearly 4 months to get better, but by then I'd hurt my shoulder which is also now finally totally healed. So, its back to the boxing gym and back to the much more leisurely and fun league + tournament play here. A few games a week is
really fun stuff.
Tomorrow morning I'll wake up, grab my eldest son and
go running with him. It'll make a fresh change. Then install a pull up bar, that I bought years ago and never fitted, and do some of that. Maybe make some space for some sit ups and press ups (my house is not spacious).
I will also try some MMA (
this place looks cool) - the UFC is quite a spectacle albeit it needs studying if you ever want to do it seriously. I mean, there's 1000s of variations on the submissions and positions etc. Boxing is far simpler. Even Muay Thai, something I did for 7 years, is much more straight forward.
Twice in 2 days I misclicked blitz when trying to move. I think that's
a sign I was playing too much. I'd draw some stupid analogy with alcohol but it'd be just that. I was just playing to the point that I was clicking through it so quickly and
I wasn't really focusing on what I was doing.
I don't think I'll ever do an ELF season or a Blackbox Sprint or
anything like that again because I lack the discipline to hold back. So it's back to what I really enjoy, even more than FUMBBL, and that is getting punched
in the face. ;)
Emo much?
