Did you know the deadline for round 1 is Wed 16th Oct? Did you know only 22 teams are in round 1? You probably did, but just in case! Everybody else has until the 23rd. Check the tournament schedule if you are unsure if you are in round 1 or 2 for your first game.
Remember, any problems scheduling games, if you don't bring it to the attention on a tournament admin before the round deadline then you'll risk a temporary ban from future majors - I know from experience! The tournament admin to contact is also listed on the tournament schedule.

The first
notable game of the day and it is classic Chaos side
Bordeaux 1985 against interesting Wood Elves
St Genis Laval des Bois - a team with AG6 and MA10 ST4 war dancers is always going to be a threat. The chaos look to have seen better days - short on guard and tackle - and, despite a brutal start with 3 elf casualties in 3 turns, are powerless to prevent the cage break, going down 1-0 at half time. However the elves choke at the start of the 2nd half with an early candidate for worst play of the tournament, handing the ball and initiative back to Bordeaux who dish out a savage beating. 4 elves for OT including the fast war dancer and they win the coin toss, but the chaos have a wizard. It's moot; quick snap, poor kick, open wings from the chaos. Des Bois escape their 2nd half nightmare.

It's a
comprehensive victory as Nurgle
Bachkantaten come up short against Dark Elves
Minions of Beelzebul. Go for its seemed to be a stretch to far for the putrid ones, although bizarrely the Minions decide to offer up a free surf of the ball at 2-0 to make the match competitive in the 2nd half but manage to recover the ball for a third.

An
even match up between Orcs
Deck of Dragons and Dark Elves
Massive Jenkem but the orcs are in form and hitting hard. 3 quick casualties force an early TD by the elves, and they never find an a way to keep the Dragons at bay as they march on to a 2-1 victory.

An
intriguing clash with freaky Dark Elf team
Shifty Stabbers up against Nurgle
Nasty Killers.
Banker, 2 ST4 witches and another +AG blitzer are always going to be a handful, and when tentacles go missing the Nurgle can't stop their drive being turned over. With only 1 rookie blitzer out going into the 2nd half, it looks game over. Perhaps over confident in numbers, the elves start deep - but they're up against a team called Nasty Killers! The nurgle pick off the Stabbers and Nuffle delivers on the dodge and double gfi for the 1D to steal the ball; a T16 TZ pick up. dodge and pass completes the turnaround to take it to a reroll-less overtime. The Killers win the toss but the game is never over when there's a player like Banker on the field. A loose cage is waltzed through by the super star and a fight is on for the ball. The key break is a questionable elf side step onto the ball, sending it into the hands of a rotter and the Nurgle start to pull away - Banker knocks the ball free once more before being killed and revived with -AV and the nurgle advance.

It's a
tough task for Wood Elf side
Orchid Floaters facing Chaos Dwarves
Wasteland Killaz and their 2 ST5 bulls. A dropped catch sets back the Floaters drive early and neither team can take their chance to score; scoreless at halftime. The Killaz beat up their elf opponents and survive a self inflicted scare to win 1-0 and inflict only the 2nd loss on the Floaters in 19 games.

Fezglitch
makes his bow as Skaven
Nice Little Mices face the challenge of 470TV up Chaos
Destroyahs Brothers, although they have just 1 tackle which is soon knocked out. FezGlitch is like a homing missle and wreaks havoc in 3 consecutive turns, eventually smashing the ball free. The Mices fail to maximise the chance but manage to score anyway on T6. Despite being unusually agile, the Brothers don't try to equalize - instead targeting the one turner which would likely have scored before half time whether the chaos had managed to or not! 1-0 up, with a wizard, and the only opposing tackle still knocked out, the Mices have options but score quickly with a wizard in hand to defend the 2-0 lead. The tackle stays kayo'd, but no Fezglitch so the Brothers manage to score quickly. The tackle is
still out but a gutter runner snakes the catch and it's game on! It proves costly as in the fight a
super gutter runner gets killed and revived with a smashed ankle (-MA) but the wizard intervenes to hold the chaos off to score a 3rd as the bruised Mices make it through.

It's
a game with 2 wizards as well known box Chaos Dwarves
Incoming Nightmare battle ranked Orcs
Orktubers. The orcs receive and break early after taking the early damage, and we see probably the first back to back lightening bolts at least I've ever seen at the end of T4 and start of T5. When the orc blitzer fails the dodge to attempt the score, it looks grim for the Orktubers with 7 players out. A hobgoblin fails a dodge to leave the chaos dwarves a tough task to score with only a blocker in range - but it comes off to compound the orc misery, but good KO rolls give them 9 to field for their kick off, but numbers soon slide and when an opportunity is squandered, a needless dodge failed, the game is done.

It's an all blackbox match as Skaven
Mes premiers amours get a wizard against Chaos Dwarf box regulars
Lammer Heretics. The rats are unusually robust and the Heretics find it tough going as they make no headway on defense. 1-0 at half time, finally the Heretics kill a rat, but it is in vain as the lightening bolt zaps the ball free and it is stolen with ease for 2-0. A frustrating game indeed for the chaos dwarves who end up losing 3-0.

For the
last game of the day, is there a more famous team?
WMD's in The Box entertain Lizardmen
Valencia Dracs r who are accompanied by Helmut Wolf. It's not long before a kickback knocks the "star" out the game. The WMDs get sidetracked doing their thing and a 1D is left on legend warrior
Stark who gets knocked out. Despite all 11 players being taken off the field, the Dracs successfully defend but line up with just 5 for the 2nd half. Any hope of an upset ends when a skink pass for spp (!) gets fumbled and the chaos mop up for 2-0 although 3 lizards do make a fist of it, killing a rookie warrior and holding off a 3rd.
