I really understand where you are coming from. I was coming back from a business trip in South Africa last month. I did not want to forget my phone on the night stand so I tossed it in my suitcase while I packed. The problem is that I forgot to take it out of the suitcase before checking my luggage.
When I arrived at my final destination the phone was gone. That little incident cost me about $500 too.
So how is the weather in the UK this time of year? I bet you do not need the air conditioning the thief installed.

LOL Kondor, actually it is very sunny.
Amazingly it seems my partner's bank account has a feature that insures my phone from theft so I'll get most of it back. When it's all said and done I'll still be £100 in excesses down and a number of hours stolen from my life in frustrating phone conversations and sorting out the numerous problems, but at least it is not as bad as I initially expected.

I'll trade you a phone and swap you for a bike! Thieves smashed my rear windscreen in a public car park. Police wouldn't check CCTV despite it being provided on all entrances and exits to the car park. Car park attendants so on the ball that 2 cars had their windscreens that day.
Don't leave any valuables in your car kiddos!
