I was talking to some league friends of mine when we started to talk about Fouling and so forth.

The infamous Tactical foul came up. Now Iam a coach who will foul when the tactical situation arises. BUT that brings up the point. WHAT THE HELL IS A TACTICAL FOUL?
1)If a player is down but could make a play on the ball then its, tactical.
2)His best player is down on the ground, Blodger with Cl/RSC, thats tactical.
3)Need to open up a hole in his defense because the down player has jump up, thats tactical.

But it seems most people after the above three examples say a foul in any other instance is just plain mean spirirted and trying to hurt my players/team.

The more I think about it, is not every foul done in the game barring a blow out situation in 2/4 when you are up 3-0 a tactical foul?
1)foul has a BETTER chance of removing players from the pitch if you have DP's
2)If you do not have DP's fouling still breaks armor and stuns or better the opponett. A tactical advantage for you.
3)If its the first half and your opponeet has 15 players and you start fouling in 1/5. You still can only remove 4 players with fouling barring some blocking success. Thus for the second half he still has a full roster to field.

The point is this. Allmost every foul in the game can fall under the Tactical defense.

The reason I bring this up is that I was using my foul button to acheieve a tactical advantage in a game. My team had no DP's but I layed the boot on some low down elves (it was actually a necro team, but anybody who bitches and moans is a elf in my world). The other coach came unglued. I informed him I was doing it for tactical reasons to acheieve the desired result, a TD. He basically accuesed me of being a low down coach. I did a total of 4 fouls and with out a DP and that was enough to bring the wrath of the anti-foul coaches union down on my butt. FYI, I was playing my Goblin team.

I have to admit that one game allmost made me want to field a team of DP's Khemri team and go out and start fouling every turn just so I could hear the lamentations of my victims. In the end I elected not to becauses I believe fouls should only be used "tactically". what ever!

Post script: I lost the games to that Necro team 3-0 and my fouls did not acheive the desired result of the TD.
