The 2nd Lizardman team I’ve done is now complete. Unfortunately my computer died a couple of weeks ago and the replacement doesn’t like the image manipulation software I got with my previous camera. The newer one works ok, but it can’t get the background as bright as I did with the zons or pact teams. This is a real shame as I felt my photos were getting much better.

The last remaining normal player was the Krox. As he’s a toad rather than Croc I wanted him to have the darkest skin of all the players. It wasn’t easy as dark green can be difficult to highlight, so his scales ended up roughly the same colour as his skin. However as toads are more slimey and warty than scaly I didn’t think that was too much of an issue. His torso probably turned out the best.

I’d already pretty much completed Quetzal Leap so just needed to finish his base.

I saw this model as more appropriate for Lottabottol due to the face mask and more armour even though he is skinnier. I made his skin a mid green and gave him some dark red armour. For some reason I find mid-green is the hardest colour to paint so I’m the least happy with the saurus and him out of all the players I did.

I’d already done Hemlock before so used the Prophet of Stoek in place of the skink hero. I liked the pose better with him standing on a small ledge (actually a dead skaven’s arm but I covered that up). He got a pale green colour scheme to match the skinks but was a little darker since he’s a star. His chest armour I painted bone to match the colours used on the skinks too.

Last of all was Slibli, this is another star I’d done previously. For him I reversed the suarus colour scheme with bone scales and dark green skin. Unlike them I didn’t give him a paler belly since I thought this made him look more powerful.

It was interesting to paint the whole team in a more natural colour scheme. The vast majority of the colours used are green, brown and bone with a few areas of colour. But i think this works well to bind them together as a team since they are made up of both amphibians and reptiles. I was tempted to paint the frog/toad models bright colours but looking at the various warhammer slann mage priests I didn’t think this quite works. It’s very hard to paint them with bright patterns and have it look like their natural skin rather than they are wearing bodypaint.
With that team done I can now devote all my attention to the Norse Dwarfs.

I’ve roughly assembled another 6 linemen to go with the earlier test model. They will need a bit of re-posing and some greenstuff work to fill gaps and add hair at the back in where the shields obscured their beards. I’ve given them all the same style of helmet and shoulder pad to help differentiate them between the other positionals.

I’m working on the Blitzers now, I bought 1 ironbreaker from e-bay and had the old undead one from the lost legion. I’m leaving them with their normal shoulder pads and have given then hands from the 5th edition human bloodbowl players. I’d bought that whole team and started cutting them up for a conversion before losing interest so was glad to be able to put those bits to use. The ironbreaker looks pretty good already but the undead guy needs a new horn and a lot more work in sculpting his hair and beard to cover up the fact that he has no flesh.

I’ve got all the normal sized bases done now, this pic shows the 3 stages, with the middle base having a pin in it to attach the player. I’ll probably use the same stuff I make the icicles with to hide the joins where their boot/feet will join.
Looking through my bits box I found
the dwarf lord that I chopped the hands off for the old chaos dwarf team. His head would be great for this team but I’m not sure what player to use it on. I’m considering
Blitzer – but a little too large and fancy compared to the other ironbreaker
Thrower – The wings work and i see throwers as team captains.
A star – possibly flint, boomer is another possibility but I was thinking of giving him the facemask from the cannon crew.

My earlier statement about devoting all my time to the Dwarfs was not quite accurate. I’ve also managed to start work on Soaren Hightower in my quest to do all the teams and stars. I may change his right arm to be holding the ball and think he needs either shoulder pads or wings like the GW high elves.
Finally, since the site changed and requires https images I've been putting my pics on facebook as it's the only way i could get them to work. I've collected the best pics of all the teams I've done in 1 group. Feel free to
