I've just realised yesterday marked exactly 1 year since I joined this small BloodBowl community.
In that time I've played 382 games and managed an respectable 67% win rate.
I mostly play [R] and I see it as the fun division and have even got my CR above the magic 170 a few times *rolleyes* but have become a little tired of it all. The stable games really brought some meaning to [R] for me and I am gutted that it seems to be dieing. The other guys in FCUK are always fun and we've had some hilarious slagging matches with LoA blighty and SCUM members who frequent WIL chat with us.
But [L] has given me the most joy, the White Isle League in particular has introduced me to some great people and I've had some fantastic games against top coaches. Getting into the playoffs of the NFL and gaining promotion in my 2nd season of WIL have meant far more than reaching a smack final or being in the top 150 of ranked coaches.
It also encourages a good healthy rivalry amongst regular league opponents. Destroying a bitter rival can boost your own league propects and you can expect any dirty tricks employed to be remembered and paid back with interest. Much better than picking on some annonymous new player who doesn't know what they are getting into.
Finally I'd like to thank everyone who helps run this site, particulary Christer and Angie. I've been very lucky and have only had a couple of issues that needed to be sorted by the admins and they have always been very polite and helpful with me. I don't earn a lot of money, but try and donate small amounts at regular intervals when I have spare cash that I'd waste on useless things like rent and food.
I just hope big C knows that the vast majority of the community love the site and appreciate all his hard work. All too often a few loud nutcases can gain a disproportinate amount of attention, when they only represent a few people if not just themselves.
If my 2nd year on FUMBBL is even 1/2 as good as the 1st it should be a great year.
