Well I was reasonably sensible last night (must be getting old) so was able to spend some of today doing some more painting.
I've finished off the Runner and Assassin, so just the captain to go. I went for almost pure white hair for the runner, i really like it on that pic from the Dark elf Blitzer's gallery and it ties in with the old coloured rings since he has passing access.
The Assassin is mostly black, i only went for very fine highlights on the trousers and outside of the cloak as too much can make it look dark grey rather than black (it's also quicker). The blue on both models turned out really well, a blue glaze almost makes it glow.
So just the Captain to finish now, I've got the rest of the week to add numbers and do the bases. If you look at the runner's base I've added a feather to it and some of the other models have now got bits of armour/skulls/rocks on them (though this is not shown on the part 3 pics). That leaves me the whole weekend to lavish attention on the captain, I'd like to make him stand out a bit, so he'll probably get red lining to his cloak. Once the team is done i'll post a pic of the captain and one of the whole team all finished.
One final thing to decide is if I should make the bases fresh green grass or add some areas of earth/mud. Bloodbowl came out in the 40K 2nd edition/fantasy 4th edition days when colours were bright and bases were green. Now the standard is brown or grey earth with bits of static grass, whilst that is quite fitting with Dark Elves I'm not sure if it will look enough like a pitch.
